north carolina state fair

so mike and i were talking. it seems like life is passing by way to fast and sometimes we forget to stop and enjoy all of the little things in life. i'd like to keep a journal ... i've thinking about it for a couple of months but i still haven't done anything about it. so we're thinking we'll use the blog as our living journal. if we only note a couple of things that happened that day, no matter how small because that's what life is about... all the small stuff. we'll try to add a photo, even if it's not current... we have lots to choose from. so read if you'd like - hopefully you'll think about the little things too ;-)
today was a BIG day! we've been back in nc for about 7 years and have only gone to the state fair once. which really is ok. i'd say once every 5 years is plenty! for most people, they would say that the weather today was not perfect. it was cloudy, cool (about 50), and breezy. for us it was perfect. got to were a jacket, gloves, and a hat - yeah! we got to the fair early, got great parking, walked around for a bit, ate grilled corn on the cob and a healthy deep fried snickers, walked around a little more, then left to go eat lunch. why spend so much on fair food for lunch when it's neither healthy nor really good. we went to panera and shared a bowl of soup and sandwich. walked around the mall for about 30 minutes, checked out crate and barrel, then left. on the way to the park it started sprinkling - since neither of us is going to melt we didn't let that stop us from hiking for awhile. i love cool weather ;-)
i'm trying a new software to post the below photo. it's a big photo, rather than each individuals ones ... might go back to the individual ones but thought i would try it. (flrckr almost had a stroke uploading this big of a file!)
now off to do laundry - remember, it's the little things!
