the Evolution of the Mower

after living in a townhouse for several years, all of our yard equipment had been given away.
Our very first purchase was an eco-friendly mower. No gas, no fumes, no CO2 emissions - just some good 'ol manpower was needed.

After the first mow, we realized that .5acre of constantly growing grass may be just a little too much for the eco friendly mower - so off to search for some other options. We were estatic to find an electric mower on Craig's List (Mike's favorite shopping site!) A little self consciousness the first couple of times I used the mower, but after a while I got used to it. Also got used to the slowing of the cars and pointing of the fingers. Oh well, still no smelly gas - no CO2 emissions.

As the summer progressed and the days got hotter. The grass started growing faster and faster. By the time we were finished cutting the grass, it was time to start at the beginning again. We had to think of something else .

Danielle, the previous owner, came over to pick up her frig and dishwasher. We brought our own - thought it would be good karma to give them back to her. Good Karma indeed! We asked her whatever happened to the riding lawn mower she had - happened that she had it and was willing to trade it for the frig and dishwasher. WooHoo!

At first I was a little concern about the very non-eco friendliness, but now the grass is mowed quite quickly - all in time for the tofu burgers ;-)
